Budapest is full of sights that are worth seeing. So full that even separately in the different districts you can visit many famous or just ‘good to see’ places and buildings. In this article we collected the places of the 9th district where you absolutely need to go if you’re nearby.
MÜPA aka ‘The Palace of Arts”
Even the building itself is breathtaking, especially at night with the colorful lights. But how it looks is just one thing. There are always wonderful concerts in its hall. Not only amazing Hungarian musicians perform there but even many fantastic foreign ones as well. If you are near or in the 9th district, for example you’re a foreigner student in the city and lives in Dean’s College Hotel Budapest you should definitely visit MÜPA.
House of Unicum
Everything you need to know about the original Unicum you can get to know here. You can even taste it directly from the barrel. The House of Unicum is also a museum that has an amazing exhibition, so you can definitely spend some time there and get some knowledge about the drink’s history and the machines of the past. Also you can hear about the Zwack family and their history.
National Theatre
The wonderful building of the National Theatre is located next to the Danube. Together they provide a beautiful view. And just as the MÜPA it is not only about the look of the building. Many famous Hungarian pieces are performed there. Even if you can’t speak the language, the building is worth seeing and you can also have a coffee or some refreshments with cakes in the café of the theatre’s terrace.
